Renewable Engergy

Modern world is running with the power of fossil fuel, a king of energy source are hydrocarbons, primarily coal, fuel oil or natural gas, formed from the remains of dead plants and animals. But this kind of fuel are limited and it will run out sooner of later. But with the increase of population the demand of fuel is going high. Scientists predict that our fossil fuel will run out within mid of the next century. So the necessity of alternative energy source become very important. Renewable energy can solve these problem. Renewable energy is generally defined as energy that comes from resources which are naturally replenished on a human timescale such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, waves and geothermal heat. Renewable energy can replace conventional fuel in four distinct areas: electricity generation, hot water/space heating, motor fuels, and rural (off-grid) energy services. Like many developed country, Bangladesh is also working with the technology that can produce renewable energy. The government has installed the biggest solar power plant on the rooftop of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics building in Dhaka. The plant with a 200 kwp (kilowatt peak) generation capacity, equivalent to lighting up 5,000 bulbs of 40 watts, will meet a significant portion of the building's demand for electricity.

d most ancient lakes of the world. It is situated almost in the centre of Asia. Lake Baikal is a gigantic bowl set 445 meter above sea level. The lake covers 31,500 square km. It is 636 km long and an average of 48 km wide. The widest point of the lake is 79.4 km. The water basin occupies 557000 square km. and contains 23000 cu. km. (cubic kilometer) of water, which is about one fifth of the world's reserve fresh surface water. The average water level in the lake is never higher than 456m. The average depth of Lake Baikal is 730 m. and its maximum depth in the middle is 1.620 m. There are hot springs in the surrounding area of Lake Baikal. The quality of the water of these springs is excellent. The lake acts as a powerful generatorand bio-filter producing this water. Baikal is a stormy lake. Autumn is the most stormy time. The wind blows from various directions. The weather depends on the wind. If it is blowing from the north, the weather is bright and sunny. The water of the lake looks green and dark blue. But if the winds get stronger, Baikal turns black, waves rising high with white crest. The beauty of Lake Baikal is exceptional.

Smoking is a bad habit. It is also a dangerous habit. Smoking affects the smoker very dangerously. It causes many fatal diseases in his body. It causes cancer, heart diseases, bronchitis etc. Nicotine oftobacco badly disturbs free circulation of blood through veins. It also hampers the supply of oxygen in the body and damages the lungs of the smoker. Smoking irritates the eyes, offends the nose and unsettles the mind. Smoking causes cough in the old age of the smoker. It diminishes the longevity of life. It is a cause of wastage of money. Young smokers sometimes cause various social evils. Even a non-smoker is affected by the smoking of a smoker. Every year a lot of people die because of smoking habit. Smoking is a curse on humanity and so we must prevent it. With a view to preventing smoking, nowadays many organizations are campaigning against it. So, we must save ourselves from this dangerous habit.

The Taj Mahal

It has been over three hundred years since Emperor Shah Jahan of Delhi built the Taj Mahal as a tomb for his wife in Agra. Architecturally, it is still one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. The building is made of fine white marble with inlays of coloured sandstone. Four slender white towers rise from the corners of the terrace. There is a large dome above the centre of the building. Around the large dome there are four smaller domes. just inside the outer walls, there is an open corridor from which visitors can look through carved marble screens into a central room. The bodies of Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz lie in two graves below this room. The Taj Mahal is surrounded by a beautiful garden and there is a long pool that stretches out in front of the building. One can see the beauty of the Taj Mahal in its reflection in the pool water. Visitors come to see this wonderful building at different times of the day since it assumes a different look at different times. Most people like it best on moonlit nights.

Mother's Day is a celebration honoring mothers and motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in March or May. The celebration of Mother's Day began in the United States in the early 20th century. In most countries, Mother's Day is a new concept, copied from western civilization. Bangladeshi's are celebrating mother's day from last few years. In Bangladesh, Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of the month of May. People wish his/her mother on that day. They also give his/her mother sharers , cakes, flowers, greetings cards, mobile phones, sweets, ice-creams and gift mugs etc. as "Mother's Day" gifts. They try to remain very close to their mothers. In observance of the day discussion programs are organized by government and non-governmental organizations. Reception programs, cultural programs are organized to mark the day in the Capital city. Television channels air special programs and newspapers publish special features and column to mark the day. Greeting cards, flowers and gifts featuring mother's specialty to the children are on high demand at the shops and markets.

Load Shedding

Load shedding means the discontinuity of supply of electricity for short or long time.Nowadays it has become a part of our daily life. There are many reasons for load shedding. Theinsufficient production of electricity is the main reason of it. Misuse and illegal connection of electricity are the other reasons of it. It occurs mostly at night because the demand of electricity is more than in the daytime. The bad effects of load shedding are beyond description. It creates problem in the socio-economic development of the country. Mills and factories, shops, hospitals etc. become paralyzed due to load shedding. The sufferings of the students know no bounds. They sit in the darkness closing their books during the load shedding. They suffer a lot of if it occurs in the time of their examination. The patients also suffer terribly because operation stops in hospitals for load shedding. Load shedding at night also encourages the thieves. However, this problem should be solved at any cost. The concerned authority must take necessary steps to stop it. More power stations should be established. Illegal connection and system loss should also be stopped. After all, there is no alternative to be conscious about the misuse of electricity.

Sometimes in a book fair some unpleasant incidents take place for the evil motive of the miscreants. So, the complete interest for the book fair is often marred. A street hawker is a common figure in Bangladesh. Now a day he is seen to sell goods as moving shops. He sells things of common use or fancy items. He carries his goods in a bag or in a basket. He sometimes carries his moving shop on his bicycle or on a pushing car. He walks along in the roads by calling the names of his articles by singing a song or by ringing a bell. His peculiar calls draw the attention of children, women, folk and simple persons.A hawker sells children & women’s favorite things, such as: toys, dolls, biscuits, cakes, ice-cream, sweet meats, fruits etc. He sometimes sells common necessary things, such as: clothes, cookeries, vegetables, newspapers, magazines and many other necessary and fancy articles. A street hawker is a man of jolly nature. He sometimes sings comic songs or plays flute or shows some magic in order to get the attention of people around him. Then he approaches with a smiling face and he declares his items are the best from others. By his pleasant words he convinces the people and able to sell his goods at a high rate. He some times deceives his customers both in kind and quality. Maybe they do this for their poverty.A street hawker is highly welcomed by the children. He is a favorite person to them. Sometimes he deceives with the children, women and simple people. So some people do not like him.

The Life Of A Farmer

A farmer is one, who farms or cultivates the land for agricultural production. In any agricultural country farmers play a vital role. He may be rich or poor. He works in the field from dawn to dusk. He rises early in the morning and goes to the field to seed, to weed or to harvest. After he finishing his work in the field, he returns home in the twilight (sunset). They don't have their own lands. They cultivate others land. The life of a farmer in our country is full of uncertainty (hesitation). Sometimes he passes his days in great joy if he can produce his crops well. Again, he may face hard days if production of food grains fall because of natural calamities. So a farmer feels happy when there is bumper-crops and feels unhappy when production of crops falls short of expectation. As a whole, they don't lead a happy life.

The person, who teaches the students, is a teacher. A good teacher is he or she who teaches his or her students perfectly and instructively. He tries to pull out the hidden treasures from the students. He makes himself ready for school in the very morning and reaches school early. Sometimes he does official works and sometimes he teaches his students in the class. The students feel very happy, proudly, and needy for a good teacher. A good teacher has some special qualities. He is very dutiful, responsible, attentive, punctual, and smart. A good teacher makes his lessons attractive and easy to his students. He makes the dull students understand their lessons in an easiest method. His service is very important because he plays an active role to build up the nation. He teaches hisstudents morals and helps in building up their future by proper teachings. He is busy with his works because he wants his students cut a good figure in the examination. His only thought is to guide thestudents into a proper way. A teacher not only has to take classes but also has to assess students’ test and exam scripts outside the class. As a social worker he tries to do good to the people of the society. He is popular with his students because of his good and attractive character. SHORT PARAGRAPH ON FLOWER’

Flowers are a symbol of beauty and peace. When we get up in the morning and see a flower, it brings a smile on our face. We feel peaceful and at least for fraction of a second, we forget our worries. I have to start early to school. My school is just walking distance away, but the distance is twenty minutes walk from my home. Since we do not stay in the city, we are away from the hustle and bustle of city life! I like walking from home to my school because on the way I can see many trees and flowers in the small gardens in front of other houses. They are like rainbows in the sky. Flowers make a place colourful and beautiful. The rose plant is the most common in every garden. Another common flower is jasmine that has a good odour. But my favourite flower is the lotus. The lotus is also the national flower of our country. The reason why I like the lotus is very funny, it’s because I have not seen anyone putting the lotus on their head to decorate their hair! I do not like plucking flowers to be put on the hair. Have you noticed the lotus? It is mostly rose in colour. It comes out from the muddy swamp and beautifies even the damp. When we see the full bloomed lotus we forget the damp and the dirt. There lies the beauty of the flower. The lotus looks very beautiful with its long petals, decked on its big green leaves. Many a times we are tempted to pluck it, but be careful, looks are deceptive! The lotus has a long stem and it’s strong and deep, so we need not try to pluck it as we might fall into the water. There is a story of Maharaj Shivaji, his mother Jijabai wanted a flower to be given as an offering to God. The condition was that it shouldn’t be touched by anyone. Shivaji shot it with his bow, in such a way that it fell on the lap of the Lords idol. The flower that he shot was the lotus. Lotus is said to be a symbol of spiritual awakening, as it stands as a distinct single flower. Our thought should also be like that of the lotus. In other words, we should search for the inward beauty and purity of a person, rather than the outward, as looks may be deceptive!
